A problem with the Connecticut 1403 printer was addresed by Bob Erickson and repaired with the aid of his trusty soldering iron.
Bill Newman brought in some modern motor start capacitors to be installed in Bob Erickson's IBM Model B typewriter. This fixed the problem of the old device trying to smoke us out of the place. After replacing the bad capacitor, Bob returned to finding why the tab function of the typewriter does not work.Bob had a lot of help fixing his typewriter.
Doug Martin, Stan Paddock and Bill Newman researched a mystery connector on the Connecticut 1401. We suspected that this is where an IBM 1407 typewriter would be connected. Late in the day, we discovered that the majority of the wires in the connector are not connected to anything.
Stan Paddock and Bill Newman continue their debugging of the Connecticut 1401 to IBM PC interface.
The second test was stopped by a hard crash of the machine. An attempt to run Big Print had the same problem. We will attempt to recreate the problem next week so we can fix it.
